When it comes to paper…

I always have loved paper, the feel the smell, the different textures.  I am one of those people who smell books, and I have been known to NOT buy a book if it smells ‘funny’ or bad.

I have a sizable collection of journals – mostly empty – and have begun to collect an assortment of different papers; pads, loose leaf, handmade, different colours, weights, and textures.  My foray into paper cutting was a logical next step.  It is a practice that I dive into and lose myself for hours at a time.  Passion lives there.

When it comes to the Monsters BeSpoke…

I have been wrangling BeSpoke Monsters for years now. They possess a magic all their own. They came to me about eight years ago, a fleeting thought, creative idea, a gift really.  I wrangled (read built) my first monster, made some adjustments and I was putting them up for adoption on Etsy.  Each one comes with its own certificate with the Monster’s likes and dislikes – including the food he prefers and any slightly odd behaviour he may exhibit.

When it comes to photographs…

I do not in any way consider myself to be a photographer.  The photos on this blog will always be ones that I just find interesting or ‘pretty’.  Or ones that I have been challenged or asked to take.

When it comes to writings…

I have had a story in my head for years now. The story is somewhat of a fairytale and it too – like the Monsters BeSpoke – seemed to come to me out of nowhere.  A flash of inspiration that happened to alight in my imagination.  I will do it justice and get it out there.   I entered National Novel Writing Month where you attempt to complete 50,000 words in the month of November.  The first year I did it – I won.  Winning simply means that you hit the 50, 000 word total.  The story is there in a basic, rough and ugly form but it’s there!  Now all I have to do is make sense of my own writing, edit and rewrite and edit and rewrite.  While I do that I will post excerpts from it on this blog.

I believe that’s me in four nutshells.
